3 AZ: Your backups remain accessible, even if a zone goes down
With Leviia Storag3, your data is distributed across three separate zones in France.
With a single-zone architecture, all your outsourced backups depend on a single zone. If that zone becomes inaccessible at the same time your other backups are also inaccessible, you lose access to the copy that is supposed to allow you to restore your data.
The “0” in the 3-2-1-1-0 rule recommended by ANSSI refers to this: 0 errors, verified through restore tests. Except that when each test is billed by the terabyte of data retrieved, it becomes an annual expense—and then just a theoretical one…
